TITIK - Fieldtrip Pants in Noir (Unisex)
HANDLOOMED BY MASTER WEAVERS IN
MEDONO VILLAGE, CENTRAL JAVA.
We go far in our work, going beyond fair trade to find and run our impact programs - taking trains, planes, boats, and motorbikes. Those of you who've travelled in rural Indonesia, you know that you must be prepared for the unexpected.
So for 2 years, we've been perfecting our very own Fieldtrip Pants. Testing it through different terrains. It needs to be functional, but comfy. Breathable in the tropical climate, but formal enough to attend village ceremonies (happens more than expected). Also, pockets. Deep and generous to bring your phone, pen, anti-mosquito, notes, and even water bottle.
TITIK is a reminder that we are enough in a world that constantly aims for more. Each of the embroidered dots are created entirely by hand, taking 4 weeks of preparations to set the wooden loom. The deep Noir shade is 100% naturally dyed, taking us almost a year of research. We finally found the key: first we need to dye the fabric into really deep blue with fermented Strobilanthes Cusia leaves, repeating the process 8-10x alone. Afterwards, we turn to Ceriops Tagal wood bark to darken the shade to yield this soft almost-black hue!
Color and pattern variations may occur and are part of the charm of this handcrafted fabric. We love that one-of-a-kind-feel!

OK they did call it Fieldtrip Pants - but I literally live in these even in the city. They're so comfortable and soft on the skin, but also sturdy and BREATHABLE which is so important as I am often too lazy to iron my clothes. Somehow, the minimal cargo pants look totally make me feel cool, like an adventurer under cover. I just can't wait taking them to Peru for the Summer!
