KUPU - Silk Kain in Natural Dye Black
HAND-DRAWN BATIK & NATURALLY DYED IN
JLAMPRANG VILLAGE, CENTRAL JAVA.
Kain means 'cloth' in Indonesian, a fabric that has adorned the bodies of Javanese women through centuries. Wrap over your shoulders as a scarf, tie around your waist as a skirt, or style them as a dress. Crafted with soft silk fabric and finished with hand-stitched detailing, each is an heirloom piece that will accompany for years to come.
STORY & PROCESS
KUPU is inspired from the butterfly effect found in nature, where small things lead to big change. Interpreted into a modern and minimal pattern, we found it to be the perfect symbol to inspire Courage in us: dreamers, seekers, wanderers, as we pursue our dreams.
