HAND-DRAWN BATIK AND NATURALLY DYED IN GESIKHARJO VILLAGE, EAST JAVA.
A versatile and multifunctional fabric that can be worn as a sarong, a wrap dress, a top or a simple scarf – it’s entirely up to you and your creativity. Each of these luxuriously soft silk fabrics are finished with a traditional hand-roll stitch technique, adding a distinguished touch of elegance. One sarong takes an artisan one full day to stitch.
LAUT depicts the silent waves that border the coastal line and the vast ocean surrounding our newest village: Gesikharjo in East Java. Interpreted as a fluid line that continuously moves, it evokes the harmonious relationships between our past, present, and future. From the artisans to the wearer, all become intricately one.
Color and pattern variations may occur and are part of the charm of this handcrafted fabric. We love that one-of-a-kind-feel!
