Three years ago, we made an announcement that felt quietly radical: SukkhaCitta became a certified B Corporation.
At the time, most people hadn’t heard of it — and yes, I still get asked why we only got a B, not an A 😉
But behind that quirky name is something pretty powerful. It meant that our farm-to-closet mission — to protect our planet while ending exploitation — was officially recognized as using business as a force for good.
That same year, we received the Best for the World™ Award, placing us in the top 5% of B Corps globally for community impact. Think of it like winning an Oscar — but for companies prioritizing people and the planet over profit margins, triggering a wave of happy dances in our office and beyond!

Here’s something you might not know: To keep your B Corp status, you have to recertify every three years. It’s not a one-and-done badge. Every cycle, you’re evaluated across five key areas — from governance and worker rights to environmental practices and community impact.
And this year?
We’re proud to share that we raised our score from 95 to 110! 🎊🎉
So how did we improve? Through thousands of small, deliberate decisions.
Through investing in regenerative farming with indigenous wisdom.
Through growing our craft schools so more Ibus can earn a living wage from home.
Through radical transparency in how each piece is made, and who made it.
Behind every point in that score is a story. A family. A choice to do better.

Linna and her cooperative of Mama Kapas on her 1-hectare plot in East Java. In 2024, she received a grant from Rumah SukkhaCitta Foundation to purchase the land that they are now regenerating.
It’s women like Ibu Linna, now leading her village in soil-friendly farming practices and growing your Kapas pieces. Like Ibu Lilik, who draws each Seribu Bunga fabric with care, her kids playing beside her.
Ibu Lilik, who together with her mother Ibu Srikanthi changed my life and drove me to leave my comfortable career to start SukkhaCitta. I am forever grateful to listen to my heart and follow her twinkling eyes and big dreams. The journey has been far from easy, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
When you choose a SukkhaCitta piece, you’re not just wearing something beautiful.
You’re investing in them. You’re expanding our capacity to train more women, restore more land, and create dignified jobs where they’re needed most.
This isn’t charity. It’s real change. Measurable, lasting, regenerative change.
And it’s only possible because you believe in a different kind of future — one that’s not just less bad, but actively healing.
The B Corp certification is a milestone, not the destination.
The real work happens every day — in the villages, in the fields, in the hands of the Ibus who make all of this real.
So thank you for walking with us so far.
The next chapter is just beginning — and I couldn’t be more excited to write it together.
Your forever nerd,
Denica
