This question led us on a journey tracing the origin of our clothes.

STORIES FROM THE FIELD
What Ibu Kasmini Taught Us
Meet our first Mama Kapas,
who shows what's possible
when you put people & planet first.

Our Plant Dyes
Toxic dyes make fashion the 2nd dirtiest industry globally, causing 20% of the world’s water pollution.
How your clothes are dyed is one of the most polluting aspects of their production. Every day, tons of toxic chemicals enter our rivers from textile dyeing. Devastating not only our Planet but also posing health hazards to the marker's families.
This is exactly why we invest so much time in natural dye research and trainings in our villages. To protect our Ibus and our only Planet - but also you and me.

"A key piece of SukkhaCitta's mission is environmental: to reduce toxic run off from dyes that textile makers dump into local waters, working with the artisans to reclaim natural dyes."
Because of you,
Ibu Lilik is no longer exposed
to toxic chemicals
"
Every time I dyed my fabrics, my chest would hurt from inhaling  all those fumes. And my hands  burned too. But we didn't know  any other alternative. If we don't use [the synthetic dyes], we get no income.

Through SukkhaCitta's trainings, we now dye with plants. Our husbands even help us forage the woods! Not only does it no longer hurt, I'm happy knowing that our fabrics no longer damage the environment.
